2016 End of Year Competition Review

2016 proved to be a history setting year for LPW Cheer. It all started off with LP hosting it’s own competition event. The 1st Annual LPW Bow to Tow Cheer Invitational was a huge success with 8 clubs participating and 13 teams competing and 5 vendors!! Special thanks to all the girls who served as buddies for all the teams, volunteers who took care of everything from ticket sales to girls from St. Francis who acted as spotters for the day, the judges, vendors and parent helpers who worked the event to make it a success! LP fielded 3 teams who did expedition routines to the delight of the crowd. We started with our Ankle Biters (ages 4-6) doing a 2 min routine complete with jumps and stunts – and the crowd went wild.

Our Junior & Senior teams used this event as a dry run for the rest of the season. We received such positive feedback and promises from all the teams that they will all return again *\0/*
Our Junior & Senior teams then went on to compete at 5 more events. First up, PW Cheer Challenge where they both picked up a second place finish and Your Lady Warriors won the Most Important award of the day: The Spirit Award. The following weekend was a double header, Garnet Valley on Saturday, taking third in both divisions but winning the coveted Spirit Award and CB East where both teams won 1st place!!

Next up for both Junior and Senior teams was Lansdale Catholic Cheer Competition. Once again the girls took first place in their divisions and had a blast!! Last on the regular schedule was PJP on Valentine’s Day. LP took first in both divisions with our Junior stunt group also edging out Conshy to capture 1st in the stunt off battle!!! What a way to end the season for our Junior team – We couldn’t be more proud!!

This year, LP made club history by participating in National events. The first of which was Pocono Mts. Kalahari Resort. Events at this level are performed on a spring floor (we typically use a ‘dead mat’) and thanks to our friends at PA Heat, we were able to use their facility to practice on this new surface. We also sustained some injuries along the way and some adjustments to the lineups had to be made. This did not have any effect on our girls as they earned a second place finish and a bid to US Finals! The excitement and energy was electric – I have chills just thinking about it now.  What a great showing!!

Moving on to Reach the Beach, Ocean City Maryland. This trip was especially fun as we rented a coach bus and had a blast on the ride down & back! Parents and families joined us on the bus and some drove but the end result was the same – a great time was had by all! This performance was by far the BEST YET by our Lady Warriors. We came in 5th but it felt like 1st and the after performance pics are evident of how proud the girls were of themselves!

Our last event of the season was US Finals in Providence RI May 7th. We lost 2 from the original group but added 1 to round out the team. WE stepped up the game and added harder stunts, extra jump sequences, and showmanship flair to boost our overall points. Special shout out to our Sr. Coaches Alicia Sbei & Beanna Mincarelli for doing an incredible job with this team! The girls took 4th place on the biggest event stage available (8 pts out of first) and once again, made LP HISTORY! It’s not easy performing with lights in your eyes on an elevated stage and they looked amazing!!!!

You can see the pics from all the events on our Facebook page and the gallery of this website. I could not be more proud of the way the girls performed and conducted themselves. We are already preparing the schedule for the 2016/2017 season and welcome all who want to try out *\0/*
